Qualifications and Memberships
Angela Brooks-Horn has completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Sydney, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Macquarie University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Macquarie University. Angela graduated in 2013 from the Professional Training Course in Buddhism and Psychotherapy through the Australian Association of Buddhist Counsellors and Psychotherapists (AABCAP). She is a qualified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist having completed Level 1 and Level 2 trainings. Angela has also completed a certificate in EMBERS Menopause-Informed CBT. Angela is a Registered Psychologist with the National Psychology Board and a registered Medicare provider.
Experience
Angela Brooks-Horn is a Registered Psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She has worked for ten years in community mental health at Royal North Shore Hospital and has been in private practice for more than 20 years. Angela has extensive experience and an interest in helping peri-menopausal and post-menopausal women navigate the transition, treating anxiety and depression, including post-natal depression, stress management skills development and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Her therapeutic interests lie in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and mindfulness-based therapies, including Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindful Self-Compassion Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
