Do I need to GP referral?
No. A referral is not a requirement to see a Psychologist. You will still be able to claim a rebate through your private health provider if your fund covers psychology consultations. Please contact your health provider for more information.
What is a Mental Health Plan?
A mental health care plan is a referral for eligible patients from a GP or Psychiatrist which provides the client with a Medicare rebate for psychological services. Angela Brooks-Horn is a Medicare provider and able to provide consultations under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).
How many sessions can I claim under Medicare?
Medicare covers ten sessions per calendar year. After the initial six sessions, your referrer (either a GP or Psychiatrist) will need to review your progress and if they deem appropriate, will refer you for an additional four sessions under Medicare.

How do I claim the Medicare rebate?
Once the account has been paid, we are able to make an electronic claim on your behalf. Medicare will then deposit the rebate straight into your bank account. No need to queue at Medicare!
